Aaahhh – we’re almost an entire month into the new year and NuMe is starting off with a BANG!  Dianne and I have had a chance to come down a bit from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, but are quickly getting back into “SOAP MODE” by filling our homes with the aromas.  Some NEW scents are even in the works for the Spring too.  **Stay tuned for those developments.**

While participating in several shows this past fall, we found that sharing our love of NuMe soap also meant sharing our experiences and helpful tips that go right along with it.  We’ve told countless customers that we use our natural soap in the shower each and every day.  In doing this, we of course want to get as much life out of the soap as possible.  The BIGGEST way to do this is to stand your NuMe soap straight up - with the butterfly facing you.  (Laying your soap down on its side tends to make it a little soggy and it may not last as long.)  Try it yourself – your soap will Thank You:)

We are thrilled to have a booth in the 31st ANNUAL MARIST HOLIDAY TRADITIONS ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW, this Saturday November 5th.

At the Marist School campus ,  3790 Ashford-Dunwoody Road,  Atlanta, GA.  The time is 9am to 4pm.

Wow! I would have never guessed seven months after closing my gift shop (The Paisley Farmhouse) I would be signing on the dotted line again to start a whole new business with my dear friend Marie! So, here’s our story of attaching our wings to NuMe Natural Soap…

It begins at The Paisley Farmhouse, a small gift shop that my two daughters and I opened in 2007. It was my absolute dream come true! I am so proud of all the cool things we did – projects, classes, craft shows, events, and accomplishments! Many friends and connections came from that experience including wonderful customers (many of whom I still keep in touch with) and local crafters and artists that will forever and ever inspire me. That’s where Marie comes in. She is a local paper/stationary artist that took us by storm! Merriments by Marie were a huge hit with our customers to say the least. We eventually hired Marie as a regular team member of the Paisley Farmhouse. She is the perfect contrast to me in many ways – she’s strong in areas I am weak and vice versa :)

One of our best selling items at The Paisley Farmhouse was a beautiful handmade soap called NuMe Natural Soap. It was made by a local artist named Deanna. From day one, NuMe Natural Soap was a staple item that everyone LOVED at the store, I can’t even tell you how much! I was always reordering it!

Nume Natural Soap was a simple item that had such an appeal to customers looking for a sweet little girl friend gift, or a thank you, or housewarming gift, or a treat for themselves. The smell…….ooooh the smell……it was heaven in your hand while you closed your eyes and took it in :) I fell in love with it, and so did Marie!

Eventually we decided to close The Paisley Farmhouse after much prayer and deliberation. I desperately needed some down time, not to mention I was a new grandmother of the most precious little girl you have ever seen! I am now able to spend time with my daughter and new grand-baby and I’m loving it!

After a little time passed, Marie and I started getting a lot of e-mails from past customers wanting to know how they could get more NuMe soap now that we were closed. It was almost as if Marie and I had the same ah-ha moment at the same time! We knew this soap was awesome, but Deanna (the original owner of NuMe Natural Soap) was about to close her soap business, because she was going to be putting all her energy into home-schooling her kids. So after sleeping on it a bit, Marie and I approached Deanna about our desire to bring her soap business back to life! I will never forget the day I called her- she felt like God had truly answered a prayer for her as she had been struggling with the future of her soap business. So it was eventually  decided – Marie and I would purchase NuMe!

For many months Deanna took us under her wing, and taught us the ropes of making this wonderful soap. She really had it down to a science. She was a wonderful, patient teacher (no doubt she’ll be a fantastic home-school teacher). I must say that as much as I appreciated it before, I REALLY appreciate it now that I know how much work goes into making beautiful, healthy soap!

Our families have been very supportive and helpful as we spread our wings and take off with NuMe Natural Soap. Thank you David (Marie’s awesome hubby),…who (lucky for us) is a lawyer and made everything official! Thanks to my husband, Larry, for making us beautiful farm wood display trays and a snazzy soap cutter! Thanks to my son-in-law, Ben, for our fantastic website! And thanks to my girls who are my biggest fans (and my toughest critics :)

And… last but certainly not least, a huge thank you goes out to Deanna Sellers for all her hard work and diligence that went into creating this amazing product! We know how hard it was for you to give up your “soap baby”! Thanks for believing in us to take the next step and attach our own wings to NuMe Natural Soap!
